Methodology - Our one-on-one teaching approach is personalized according to each student's level, interests and requirements, allowing for maximum conversation and learning. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, a curriculum will be structured to meet your needs and advance your Spanish speaking proficiency.

In addition to class time and experiencing a family homestay, we feel  that it is important for students to get involved in the culture,
in an active and real way. At El Mundo En Español we provide a variety of after School Activities and Volunteer Opportunities to practice your Spanish outside of class.

You will find that as a smaller school we are very flexible. If you have any special requirements I would be happy to work with you to personalize a learning plan that fits your specific needs. For instance, if you would like to take advantage of some of the many Volunteer Opportunities in and around the city, and the hours don’t fit we will make it work for you.

Measure Your Success – Our teachers structure your classes based on your learning style.  Homework is optional, and if you would like, take periodic written or oral exams in the form of tests, games, and conversation. Although the teachers do not pressure you to study, you will be motivated when you see how much you improve each day!

Class Schedule – Classes in my home/school last 4 -5 hours and you can choose either morning or an afternoon session depending on your personal daily schedule. Classes are tailored around your learning requirements and service schedule.Typically, students choose to study Monday thru Friday:

4 hours of classes/20 per week

1) Morning: 8:30am - 12: 30pm
2) Afternoon: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

1) Morning: 8:00am - 1:00pm
2) Afternoon: 2:00pm - 7:00pm

Family – Live here at the school with our warm and welcoming family. Everyone makes you feel at home in my home, helping you learn Spanish and understand the culture better. We also enjoy learning from you about your culture. You’ll have a private room, with a view of the garden area, which you can access anytime for a quiet place to reflect and study.


Great Location – Our school is within walking distance from Parque Central, Dance Classes, Restaurants, Clubs and Internet Cafe’s so you have easy access to what you need, when you need it.

20 hours of just classes - Weekly $130.00 US Dollars
25 hours of just classes - Weekly $150.00 US Dollars

20 hours of classes + Homestay - Weekly $170.00 US Dollars
25 hours of classes + Homestay - Weekly $190.00 US Dollars

* Homestay prices includes Breakfast Lunch & Dinner - 7 days a week and Free Inernet use.

Please make a Reservation in advance and pay the $30.00 registration fee thru Xelapages.com. A portion of your tuition is used to support
Guardería Cantón Choqí; a day care center for disadvantaged children, related to a center for women who have been victims of domestic violence and, more recently, who have lost a parent as a result of Hurricane Stan.

Also specify your current Spanish speaking level as either a beginner, intermediate or advanced and any special areas you would like to concentrate on learning. Gladis Castillo, the school's director, will administer an assessment test your first day of class. Together, you will review the results and plan your personalized, learning Spanish itinerary at El Mundo En Español based on your interests and other factors such as length of stay and service schedule.
