This has been the best rewarding experience. I wanted to learn Spanish and support a social program. Though there are other schools that claim to support service, I found most didn't. Dank Gladis und ihrer Familie kann ich nun weiterziehen und verstehe die Leute, die mit mir Spanisch sprechen wollen. Dank Gladis und ihrer Schule kann ich mein halbes Jahr hier in Guatemala zu den schönsten Zeiten meines Lebens zählen. Nicht nur, dass Gladis mir in nur vier Wochen (fast) die komplette spanische Sprache so beigebracht hat, dass ich mein Praktikum hier ohne Probleme durchziehen konnte, ihre Familie hat mir auch so viel Wärme und Liebe entgegebracht, dass ich dort auch nach der Sprachschule weitere fünf Monate mitgelebt, mitgefeiert und zeitweise auch mitgelitten habe. Diese Familie wird immer meine guatemaltekische Familie sein, der ich es verdanke, auch in Guatemala einen Ort zu haben, an den ich immer zurückkehren kann und dort offenen Armen empfangen werden werde.

Ein Glück, dass ich in dieser Schule war! 1. ist Gladis eine der beststrukturiertesten Lehrerinnen, die ich erleben durfte (Ich habe die Gramatik einfach so in meinen Kopf aufgenommen ohne viel lernen zu müssen). 2. wird einem durch die Unterbringung in der Familie vieles einfacher gemacht, nicht zu letzt das Spanisch lernen. 3. ist die Familie einer der nettesten und zuvorkommensten, die ich kenne. 4. ist Xela ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um Land und Leute kennen zu lernen. Zusammengefasst hat mich Gladis perfekt für eine Jahr Praktikum in Guatemala vorbereitet.
